Pros
The engineering, field support and business support teams are generally staffed with helpful, mostly positive people. The projects I've lead and advised were interesting and challenging, and most of my coworkers were outstanding contributors (more than most teams I've been on).
Cons
It's a very common opinion among current and former employees (lots of both, due to the multiple rounds of layoffs over the last four years) that upper management has provided chaotic, uncertain, and shortsighted leadership (see the 5YTD stock chart for the outcome--holy underwater strike price for my hiring cohort...), and did not train, supervise, monitor or support middle and project managers to run a distributed organization, and has rewarded the few toxic and incompetent middle managers rather than correct and, where needed, move them on. It seems like upper management and senior management just don't pay attention to what the product and project managers do, whether in IT, customer support & field service, HR (especially), or engineering. This has led to poor morale and poorer customer service than necessary.
