Pros

Paid holidays. Weekends off. Great for resume.

Cons

Literally everything else. There’s no structure. Admins are encouraged to make clinical decisions and triage patients because of the “high volume” of calls. In reality it’s because they can’t seem to keep a clinician for more than a year or two. The turn over rate is astronomical- meaning you can be the most senior admin after only a few months of working. Training is NON EXISTENT. Company preaches “Feedback Culture” , but all that means in application is that people feel empowered to criticize you with a smile on their face. You have to just sit there and take it other wise you “aren’t open to improvement”. High call volumes lead to back-to-back calls and 80% of them are patients complaining about the outrageous bills they’ve received. The Product teams makes changes that hinder work flow for admins specifically. Claiming effectiveness but actually only trying to hide the fact that there aren’t enough admins on staff- and everyone else needs to pick up the slack. There is no opportunity for career advancement despite the constant rhetoric spewing from upper management saying otherwise. Over all, way too much stress for the pay.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review about your time in the San Jose office. I'm sorry to hear about your experience, as we work hard to create an environment where all team members are treated fairly and given the tools to succeed -- regardless of their role or what office they work in. Our team-based approach to primary care certainly creates a different office environment and team dynamic than what you would find at the typical doctor’s office, in that our Admins are empowered to collaborate with fellow operations team members and clinicians to continuously improve the patient experience. If you’re open to it, I’d like to sit down with you to discuss your concerns and any suggestions you have on how we can improve here. I’m always available on slack or over email and hope you’re open to finding time to speak soon so we can get things back on track for you. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. -- Doug Gunderson, SVP Operations
