Pros
Life-saving mission, could be awesomely fun on the Big Red Bus
Cons
Customer service suffers because of woeful understaffing combined with extravagant promotional give-aways to donors. Unpredictable hours. An overdue employee evaluation and then an 11-cent per hour raise after a year and half of service that included successful pheresis training (which pays no more than whole blood phlebotomy). Office politics. Rampant favoritism. Lower and middle management is political rather than practical. Inordinate workload and unnecessarily tedious procedures that have employees remaining after hours to finish paperwork and reports. High stress, long hours, low pay, few opportunities for promotion - and that too is political rather than practical.
