      Poor Company Culture - Branch Manager OneMain Financial Employee Review

      Pros

      Vacation accrual. I can’t think of anymore.

      Cons

      Increasing monthly goals that are unattainable and lead to no monthly bonuses. You’re expected to work as long as it takes to hit the numbers, regardless of the office closing times. You’re expected to work Saturdays when goals aren’t being hit. There’s no work life balance. I’ve been with the company over 5 years and the moment I became a manager, I was treated like I was no longer important and could be replaced at any moment. My goal was to continue to move up in the company and be successful, but they stopped investing time in me. The culture is “what can you do for me now” but nothing is ever good enough for them. The upper management micromanaged so hard that you don’t have time to breathe when emails come through, they are already sending you double emails to get done what you just were sent. Annual raises are based on your yearly number that I mentioned are unattainable.

      Pros

      Your peers. I have a great group of co-workers though multiple have left because of HORRIBLE direct management in the AM department.

      Cons

      Low hourly pay. Tricky incentives. Shark like environment. Terrible and I mean TERRIBLE managers. Favoritism runs rampant at this place and goes unchecked. Lazy, incompetent department manager makes up his own rules (you MUST use your break time to go the bathroom) which goes endorsed by his superiors and HR. Reward people who live at that place and work insane OT hours because of the low pay, but crap on people working the normal amount of hours because you’re based on the “average”. Truly one of the worst management staffs I have ever seen coupled with lackadaisical training and one of the dumbest rules I’ve ever heard of…you must be at One Main for ONE ENTIRE YEAR before you can transfer out of the department or move up. Trust me when I say run as far away as you can from this place.
