Pros

None.. its hire and fire.

Cons

My time at OneTrust has been disappointing, primarily due to several key issues within the organization. Firstly, the management structure is chaotic, with frequent changes in leadership leading to confusion and lack of direction. Managers often seem disconnected from the work being done, and feedback is virtually non-existent. Moreover, the lack of growth opportunities is disheartening, as the team is consistently overburdened with production support tasks, leaving little room for professional development. Additionally, the company has a history of periodic mass layoffs, creating a sense of instability among employees. Furthermore, the recent shift away from remote work to mandatory office attendance adds to the frustration. They hire you with inflated salaries and then fire you. Manager even compared salaries, further exacerbating the sense of unfairness and inequity within the organization. Overall, my experience at OneTrust has been marred by poor management, limited growth opportunities and periodic layoffs.

Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective. OneTrust started only 8 short years ago. We started as the pioneers in data privacy, and over the past couple of years, we've taken a step back to figure out the right way to deliver solutions to all the toughest challenges in the Trust landscape - even problems that don't exist yet. We have since begun scaling and building out our teams so that we can build usable, lovable product and mature to an enterprise organization with long-term success. This is a natural trajectory for successful tech companies like OneTrust. We acknowledge that our strategy changes over time, and our leadership team continues to grow, and that's because the Trust landscape is rapidly evolving. We owe it to our 14,000+ customers to have the right people in the room to develop, sell, and support best-in-class software. This dynamic environment where no two days are the same provides a ton of learning opportunities for a our people. We acknowledge that OneTrust is not the right workplace for everyone. To thrive here, you have to thrive in ambiguity and be stewards of your own work and growth. Our decision to bring people back to the office in a limited capacity is that we are intentional about the culture we're creating here. This includes bringing teams together in-person, throughout the year, to collaborate, build connections, learn from each other, and celebrate our wins to Finish Stronger. Additionally, we have a talented Compensation team that performs an annual pay review cycle that occurs at the beginning of each fiscal year. The purpose of the review process is to review employee compensation to ensure relative compensation that is fair and competitive. Like many companies, we regularly evaluate our organizational needs to best serve our customers and to position the company for long-term success. We acknowledge the contributions of those that have been part of the OneTrust team and wish them the very best in their future endeavors.

Pros

Unfortunately there isn't anything worth highlighting. If you are actively interviewing at OneTrust, I would encourage you to carefully read through the reviews. There are several red flags that I wish I would have been aware of prior to joining.

Cons

- Unsustainable turnover and bad leadership: The CEO, CRO, CFO, and CTO abruptly quit shortly after I started. There is extremely high turnover across all teams (particularly in GTM). Favoritism runs rampant, especially with tenured leaders. - Lack of job security and stability: At the beginning of this year, several of my peers were impacted by a reduction in force. This unfortunately appears to be a common occurrence at the start of the fiscal year. OneTrust is a revolving door for top talent. - Poor compensation: The bonus pool was slashed a few weeks after being announced at a company all-hands. This money was allegedly invested elsewhere (unclear where though). There is no equity refresh for existing employees and merit increases were far and few between this year. - Lack of diversity: Despite being headquartered in Atlanta, there are no black c-suite members. The board has no female members. Diversity is limited at the most senior leadership levels.
