Pros

- Hands down the most engaged, passionate, and caring Executive Leadership Team I've ever worked with. A lot of leaders in Austin claim to have that perfect mix of "work/life" balance, this crew delivers by understanding how false a division that is. - Physical Security experts, both internal at Ontic as well as our external partners and clients, are incredibly mission-driven and focused on solving problems to keep people, assets, facilities, events, etc. safe from harm. Can't think of a higher calling. - Central office location and collaborative work environment that really feels like an "Ontic space" for diverse teams like Marketing, Product, Client Success, Sales, etc. to partner together on projects or less formally in real-time to help each other. - As Ontic is adding staff and growing quickly, tons of fantastic new ideas and strategies result! We've got an amazing base of success to work from and it's so exciting to hear new perspectives as we've continued to smartly scale.

Cons

- It's been a year+ and so far the list is all Pros :-)

Pros

Ontic has some of the most passionate and talented people I’ve ever worked with. There’s a shared sense of purpose around building something that truly matters - bringing better technology and experiences to an industry that’s long been underserved. The mission and the community we’ve built along the way make it a place you can feel proud to be part of. Ontic isn’t afraid to take big swings, and that ambition has fueled a lot of our growth. Even when we’ve stretched too far, leadership has been willing to redirect resources and adapt, which shows maturity and awareness as we grow.

Cons

As we transition from a scrappy startup to a more structured scale-up, there are growing pains. We sometimes sign up for more than we should, and the pace of change can be intense. The increasing layers of management mean communication and alignment are more critical than ever - sometimes decisions or strategy shifts aren’t communicated as clearly or consistently as they could be. That can make it hard for teams to stay connected to the “why” behind priorities.

Pros

Pay and earning potential is the organization's strongest attribute. The commission structure is transparent, achievable, and provides employees with a clear opportunity to benefit from strong performance.

Cons

Workplace culture is heavily influenced by interpersonal relationships and perceived favoritism. Leadership decisions can appear inconsistent, and employees may not feel comfortable relying on HR to address concerns objectively. The environment can feel exclusionary at times, with social dynamics resembling those of a high school clique rather than a professional workplace.
