Pros

Nice, hardworking, caring employees at our branch. Love my co workers! It’s sad to see how hard they work and how stressed out they are.

Cons

Nurses are the “work horse” of this company. If you work full time and are short-staffed, expect to take 2-3 days of on-call weekly which can easily put you in to overtime every single week. Our hours are never 8:30-5. While everyone wraps up their day, nursing is usually there several hours after all have gone on top of going out to do admits/taking call in the evening. Expect for money to be the motivator in this company: 1) high patient load on your schedule which means lunch breaks are null most days, 2) training new nurses with same base pay/ minimal raises 3) admits in evenings bc no one has the time to see them during regular hours, 4) frustrated patients dealing with billing and patient pay and bc nurses are the “face” of the company, we get the brunt. 5) we have had upper management come every so often to our branch and it’s the same thing, nurses are not acknowledged—we are working for a pharmacy. The pharmacy is vital to bringing in revenue. 5) the company is always changing routine so cost benefits them—we have now changed how our mileage is tracked three times in 6 months. We have used two different systems to communicate out in the field twice in 1 year, billing has changed, etc. this all needs to be learned on your own in your “free time.” 6) New nursing positions don’t get approved when nurses leave the company, OC is very focused on productivity. Driving time, dropping off labs, or seeing 1 patient for a 6-hour infusion counts against productivity and isn’t even factored in. 7) the insurance stinks! High deductibles! I could go on and on....the people are great, the patients are wonderful, the company is evil!

Pros

The work is meaningful, and many frontline employees are dedicated, hardworking, and committed to patient care.

Cons

My experience with Option Care Health was defined by poor leadership, lack of accountability, and an unsustainable workload. Work volume increased significantly over a relatively short period of time, while staffing levels did not keep pace. Employees were expected to absorb the additional workload without the resources needed to do so, creating a high-pressure environment that was not sustainable. Leadership lacked visibility and engagement with frontline teams. There was little effort to understand day-to-day challenges, and communication was often inconsistent or absent. This disconnect made it difficult for employees to feel supported. As operational demands grew, responsibility was frequently shifted away from leadership and onto external factors or frontline staff. Employees were made to feel as though they were not doing enough, despite consistently working at or beyond capacity. Additionally, dismissive comments from leadership suggesting that performance issues were due to employees not wanting to work contributed to low morale and did not reflect the reality of a team that was working extremely hard under increasing pressure. Overall, the culture did not prioritize employee support or accountability, leading to burnout and frustration.
