Pros

Hours are decent for a compounding tech, with no weekends or holidays. Cons FAR outweigh this pro, however.

Cons

- TERRIBLE management - No communication - Pharmacy staff is completely overworked - Lack of any on the job training or continuing education initiatives - Very little ability for career learning or growth - Hours and job responsibilities change after hire - Constant gossiping and disgruntled attitude from staff (Mainly due to poor managers) OptionCare was the worst job I've ever had, bar none. The turn-over rate alone should be a hint - in my short time there (~1 year) I personally saw 3 different technicians leave, all for the same reason - poor managers. There's virtually no communication at all, and pharmacy managers work from home or with their office doors closed, so good luck even trying to communicate or ask any questions. The ones who ARE available, are underqualified and frankly clueless. It also means there's very little ability or opportunity to learn new policies/practices - even when clearly voicing your interest - which leaves you stagnant in your position. A few months after I was hired, my hours were changed with no warning, I was just expected to start/end my shifts 1.5 hours later, starting the immediate day after I was informed. This change was made with seemingly no consideration as to the way it might affect workflow, resulting in techs and pharmacists being overworked and chaotic during their shifts. Obviously, all these things affect the general atmosphere in the work environment. The poor management leaves employees frustrated and confused, which causes a lot of tension and even several confrontations in the workplace. During my time at OptionCare, all of these complaints were voiced by either myself personally or other co-workers. No changes were made. I cannot say anything positive about my time at OptionCare other than a select few co-workers who made the time bearable. I would not recommend working for this company at all, ESPECIALLY the Audubon, PA branch.

Pros

The work is meaningful, and many frontline employees are dedicated, hardworking, and committed to patient care.

Cons

My experience with Option Care Health was defined by poor leadership, lack of accountability, and an unsustainable workload. Work volume increased significantly over a relatively short period of time, while staffing levels did not keep pace. Employees were expected to absorb the additional workload without the resources needed to do so, creating a high-pressure environment that was not sustainable. Leadership lacked visibility and engagement with frontline teams. There was little effort to understand day-to-day challenges, and communication was often inconsistent or absent. This disconnect made it difficult for employees to feel supported. As operational demands grew, responsibility was frequently shifted away from leadership and onto external factors or frontline staff. Employees were made to feel as though they were not doing enough, despite consistently working at or beyond capacity. Additionally, dismissive comments from leadership suggesting that performance issues were due to employees not wanting to work contributed to low morale and did not reflect the reality of a team that was working extremely hard under increasing pressure. Overall, the culture did not prioritize employee support or accountability, leading to burnout and frustration.
