Pros

A lot of great people work at Optiv.

Cons

I will start by saying that my experience only relates to working in marketing. If you're looking to work in any other department, this may not apply at all. The marketing organization is a highly dysfunctional one that has only gotten worse in the last couple of years. There currently is an interim CMO that seems like a really good guy who means well, but the future is uncertain. Many have left, are leaving or say they are planning to leave. It stems from most of the senior leaders' seeming inability to lead, along with infighting among them, which has been echoed by employees in other segments of the marketing organization. They do not work well with each other and the implications of that roll down hill. Beyond that, I can only comment directly on my own boss. When I had issues with my position many months ago, I sent her an e-mail describing them in great detail. This was met with no response. When she once told me that I was communicating with a person in an improper way, and I explained myself, she had me written up. She did not attend the HR meeting. She never offered guidance. She never even acknowledged that it happened. When I eventually gave my two week notice, I received well wishes and whatnot from many in the organization. She didn't reply, but only forwarded it on to HR, acting like nothing happened with not even one word typed, let alone spoken, through the remainder of my employment. That says a lot. There are a lot of great people in marketing, but almost every one of them that I've spoken to about the subject have said they intend on leaving due to leadership. I would suggest steering in a different direction.

Pros

Unlimited PTO Supportive Management Depending on who you get Good work life balance as long as you don't take the job with you after hours Work from Home Hands on Training - could still use improvement Annual pay increase

Cons

2 layoffs in a year when they keps saying everything was fine.... Laying off core contributors so now everyone who is left is doing the work of 2-3 people and not being compensated accordingly Only way to get a worth while pay increase is to move up in the company the annual increases are not inline with inflation or cost of living
