Pros
Oracle has many good organizations, offers career development and challenging work, ability to work from home, good volunteer programs and good benefits.
Cons
OCI is a company unto itself, is not representative of Oracle as a whole. The recommendation from someone within is stay away. Leadership is hostile and uses scare and gotcha leadership tactics. Don’t be fooled by the values, they aren’t practicing them. There’s no mentoring, or support from management, in fact Jae Evans creates a hostile work place within the org but if you’ve read up on Clay, poor picks in leadership aren’t a surprise. Management turn over and reorganization is insane so setting up performance goals at the beginning of the year and reviewing with your third manager the end of the year is pointless. And having your fourth manager in a year try to speak to your promotional story while they’re still trying to figure out what you do, how the org is structured this week, and most importantly how they can land grab within the moving landscape, well that doesn’t lend itself to career progression for you, but maybe that’s the point.
