Pros
I'm not one to post reviews on the internet because I believe these forums typically are one-sided. People want to complain and whine, but don't want to take accountability. However after seeing the recent, ridiculous - and hilarious- reviews that terminated employees are writing - I felt responsible to give a real review, from a current employee that is thriving and loves Orchestra. I've been with Orchestra for many years. I have seen this company go through many life stages. We were a true start up with no organization or operational efficiency. Ive lived through management changes, department restructures, changes in ownership, and variety of other changes. I've worked in 3 different departments and have seen it all. Through it all Orchestra has maintained one thing by always upholding their values. Authenticity. Orchestra provides employees with a voice and gives us lots of ways to provide feedback. Not only does leadership ask for feedback they act on it and talk about it. At our last quarterly all-hands meeting the COO and CEO openly discussed feedback, changes that were made because of it, and even opened up a live convo asking us what is one thing you would change about Orchestra? I've worked for companies that would NEVER do this because they were to afraid to openly discuss problems and complaints. Brad and Marisa are not afraid to talk about the hard stuff with us. In an open environment like this, its a 2 way street. In theory, if you expect to be able to give feedback, you also have to receive feedback. 50 employees are thriving and love it here because we aren't afraid to discuss our weaknesses and be honest about room for improvement. All the recent terminations have been people that were clearly not trying to grow and get better and lacked in values. When Marisa became the COO, bad behavior, those who can't look in the mirror, and those lacking integrity were fired or left on their own. While terminations are hard on any company if you look around today, you see much happier employees because they aren't working under managers that lack integrity. I used to report directly to Marisa and can attest she gives and receives feedback really well. She works hard to grow her people which is clear by the number of employees that have been promoted while working under her. To read the reviews that she goes on power trips or is a fear based manager is laughable. If anything, she can be too kind and gives us too many chances. She is called mama bear because she fights for us to win everyday. Her downfalls are that she works too much and gives too much of herself but that seems to be what makes her happy so to each their own. She also can be intimidating because she speaks with a lot of confidence (we all know that people wouldn't say that if she was a man - and that's coming from a man). The last thing I'll say is about Brad. Brad has built this company with nothing but heart and hard work. He is an amazing visionary and knows exactly what he wants. I learn something everytime I hear him talk and look forward to all day meetings where I get to peak inside his brain. Brad is firm in his values and always makes decisions with integrity even when it would be much easier to take the easy route. His head is far from buried in the sand. This company is his life and he pays attention to every detail. The way that leadership and management lives our values makes it very easy for us to do the same. There is no "do as I say not as I do" mentality and they are always happy to jump into the weeds and help us out. No one here is "too good" to do any work. The new management team is young and inexperienced (which they humbly talk about openly) but that has become a strength because they are all working to grow and get better with us. I've grown so much because of Orchestra and 2018 has been our best year yet. I hope to work here forever.
Cons
1. Being located in hillsboro. 2. There's more work to do than people to do it so most of us wear many hats. 3. Hiring is slow which makes the above problem worse.
