Pros
OHSU does some great work and some great research. I worked with a lot of very smart, motivated people who had great qualifications and lots of motivation for doing good work. You can find a team spirit, if you look for it, and some jobs have freedom. Tons of providers, nurses especially, who know why they are in health care and are committed to helping people who need it.
Cons
Inertia. Lots of turf wars, resistance to change an in-bred thinking "that's not how things work here" etc. Some people put out more effort at maintaining mediocrity, especially in IT functions, than in working towards excellence because they like their little fiefdoms. A few untouchables who manage cash cows are allowed to operate on the margins of ethical standards.
