Pros
It's a big and broad research community -- there's a lot of exciting work being done here. The size of the employee community helps ensure good representation with the management.
Cons
I don't work on the hill currently, but have in the past. That can be tough if your schedule is demanding, as you are at the mercy of our admittedly excellent public transportation system. My position is with at what used to be Oregob Graduate Institute. Now that it has been eaten up by OHSU, we are all a little concerned with the long-term viability of our non-medical programs. So far, OHSU seems to be happy to bring us into the school of medicine without requiring massive changes in our research mission, but not all of our programs have been so lucky.
