Pros
A great way to meet a lots of very kind, curious and intelligent people. Many of the schools and departments are very diverse and have open, exciting, and greatly productive, nurturing cultures (be careful though some are not, see cons). Open information departments such as the vollum make me excited for humanity's future. Much of this business gives me hope and pride in the people I have worked with and their commitment to the well being of not just our state but of the world at large.
Cons
A company continually undercutting its employee's pay, retirement and benefits for greater profit, not what I'd like to see in a non-profit. Fractured schools and departments, many of which are very diverse and have open, exciting, and greatly productive, nurturing cultures others of which are the opposite and verge on or have outright displayed age and racial preference and sexism, bullying and poor management practices.
