Pros

Been in the industry for 16 yrs. Over half of that with orkin, the last 4 as a manager. I love pest control and helping people.

Cons

90% management turnover with the upstate ny region since 2020. New regime came in and changed everything. Toxic work place, people afraid to speak up due to the ramifications. Constant turnover within the branch. All the pressure is on management. Region demands accountability but doesn't hold themselves accountable. Micromanaging is all they do and it comes from the top. Poorly run. Unfair pay. They pay new people with no experience in the Industry more than the long term employees including management.

Pros

Opportunity to work for a well-established and respected industry leader with a strong reputation. Competitive pay with performance-based incentives and opportunities to increase earnings. Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development to build valuable skills. Clear career advancement opportunities into leadership, management, or specialized roles. Excellent teamwork and support from experienced colleagues and managers.

Cons

Long hours and overtime may be required during peak pest control seasons. Daily exposure to pests, insects, rodents, and tight or uncomfortable spaces may not be suitable for everyone. Meeting sales or performance goals can be stressful, especially in customer-facing roles. Work schedules may include evenings or weekends to accommodate customer needs.
