Pros

Generous product discount for employees

Cons

One would think a company that has been around since 1856 would have its act together but that is not the case with Orvis, especially these past few years as the company has followed the "guidance" of a tenured HR executive along with a group of California-based executives who seem to have their own agenda. These executives make staffing decisions with no regard for the emotional toll of employees who are dismissed and for those left holding the reins. Late in 2023, they spearheaded the restructure of an entire division resulting in early retirements and the elimination of several positions. Then, they embarked on a hiring spree from January (2024) through July. THEN, on Oct. 3, 100+ corporate-level employees were laid off. AND THEN, shortly afterwards, Orvis proudly proclaimed, "Now Hiring!" and "Dream Job Alert!" on LinkedIn. What the . . . ?? My suggestion is that you explore opportunities with other companies. If you are still intent on working for this company, pop a Dramamine and hold on - it's going to be a rough ride.
