Pros
You get to work in an industry that is truly saving lives and helping our soldiers. Summer hours and flex schedules are a plus.
Cons
Management culture, high turnover, hubris environment, 50+ hours a week, no outside training to grow mid-level and entry level employees. The management is young and inexperienced. A lot have never had another job and have been promoted very quickly. Therefore, they make impulse decisions and create bandaid solutions. They treat their lower level employees like they are lower. They are also not afraid to let people go instead of finding the root cause of issues. With that said there are some really good managers, but they rarely are able to manage their staff as they would like to. There are a lot better companies in the fox valley area or even the other divisions within the Oshkosh Corp. Defense HR will say anything to get you in the door. Oshkosh has a negative reputation for a reason. I didn't believe this when I took the job, but sadly all the warnings were true....
