Pros
Low stress zero effort job - average work week has only about 10-15hrs of actual work. Great if you want to coast and collect paychecks.
Cons
The pros of this job can also be a major con if you are interested in working on interesting or challenging problems Overhead has nothing to offer as the company is resistant to change or innovation. Additionally senior management seem to be asleep at the wheel. The competition is offering higher quality better products and market share continues to decline year over year as a result. Multiple plants have been shut down in recent years and yet there seems to be no sense of urgency or desire to right the ship. Out of date processes and workflows have the projects that are approved moving in a disorganized manor and documentation and engineering drawings for some products lines being completely nonexisten making it difficult to do the little work that you have assigned.
