Pros
Working within the manufacturing facilities, you were allowed to voice your opinion and drive change. In addition, you were allowed to take on as much responsibility as you determined. The organization was focused on waste elimination based on continuous manufacturing of a product well into it's product cycle.
Cons
To advance within Owens Corning requires relocation. After a while, moving becomes a problem if your spouse is employed or children are in school. Senior level Management is hired from outside the organization and many do not have a foundation of the products, processes, or personnel. Without this foundations, several bad decisions are made.
