Pros

- At lower level, lovely, supportive colleagues - Good HR policies and procedures - Good, supportive line managers - lovely office in central Oxford - good internal job opportunities

Cons

- frequent (basically yearly) ‘reorganisations’ , read lay offs, make for a tense working environment - who’s next? - senior management will make huge changes, ignore staff opinions of said changes, and leave staff to pick up the pieces of the inevitable mess - lots of outsourcing to companies abroad, leaving essentially a skeleton crew of overworked middle managers - high workloads, stressed staff - you are made to work with constantly underperforming suppliers and have to embarrassingly front up to clients and stakeholders as to why things go wrong - disingenuous senior leadership team who talk only in corporate jargon and refuse to listen to staff - shocking communication - staff morale is rock bottom

Pros

Great team supervises your work. You get to learn proper citation standards and write academically. You don't have too tight deadlines and can work from wherever.

Cons

I have not identified any negative aspect of being an Oxford Reporter.
