Pros

Colleagues are wonderful, and people reluctantly leave. I thought I’d be there for 2 years, I ended up staying for 14 years. The workload can be challenging at times, but there’s usually a very supportive atmosphere no matter the pressure of deadlines

Cons

In the 14 years stayed at senior designer level, standard training for the whole department happened on two occasions, usually a two day intensive advanced Adobe courses for InDesign and Photoshop. Any other training, like apprenticeships was almost impossible to get, even after putting together business cases or after identifying knowledge gaps.

Pros

Great team supervises your work. You get to learn proper citation standards and write academically. You don't have too tight deadlines and can work from wherever.

Cons

I have not identified any negative aspect of being an Oxford Reporter.
