Pros
Much of the workforce is remote and work well together. Compensation is on par with what's offered elsewhere. Complete remote workstation was provided. Work-Life balance is great.
Cons
Inquiries or proposals to leadership often go unanswered or are dismissed outright as irrelevant if it's not a concept immediately determined beneficial. Bikeshedding is a common occurrence resulting in days, weeks or months of additional hours invested in issues for little to no tangible improvement in the environment or end user experience. Common solutions in other orgs are received as a bridge too far here. In their stead will be niche one-off solutions with lists of caveats attached. No direction provided throughout the year on role performance despite multiple defined goal and performance review checkpoints existing. Performance reviews that do occur assess criteria never previously discussed. In a broad sense, "going above and beyond" is only situationally applauded or rewarded. It is otherwise expected. Cracks in the foundation will become visible after the honeymoon period wears off. The answers to the questions you may ask yourself as to "Why would this ever be done this way?" will become apparent.
