Pros

Despite what I have read in most of these reviews Pac overall is a great company to work for. Sure it has it's issues just like every other company does but overall a good company. I have been with Pac Worlwide for a total of 17 years. I started out as a Packer with in 2 months got promoted to Operator with in a couple years I then got promoted to Lead Operator and most recently I was promoted to Production Supervisor. In my opinion in most cases expectation does not meet reality when it comes to promotions. If you work hard, show up everyday, have the desire to succeed you will in time get noticed here. I would recommend Pac as an Employer to anyone who is looking for a good job, and might I add has never in my tenure had a Lay-off. Steady year round work. The benefits are above average and considering the cost of health care in most companies very affordable. 2 weeks of vacations starting out up to a max of 5 weeks per year after 10 years of service and 40 hours of personal time per year so I would say our time off benefit is way better them most companies. We also have a great 401K plan.

Cons

12 hour shifts, rotating weekends you only get 2 weekends a month with your family, but you also only work half the month so not so bad!! In some cases it has been mandatory if no one voluntarily signs up to cover a vacation.

Pros

The problem here, as with many of these 5th and 6th level companies, is leadership. No leadership. There are bosses, Managers, Assistant Managers, Associate Assistant Managers, Assistant Associate Assistant Managers, bosses bumping into each other, but no leaders. The pay, hourly and salary, is less than other places, and raises are pitiful. This place has been bought by another similar company, so if you're seeing those job postings and thinking about applying, don't do it. Not many holidays. Expect to work some major holidays. This is what an associates in graphic design will get you. Tons of turnover- a revolving door- simply because this is not a good place to work.

Cons

Two fires on a major piece of equipment in a very short time span. I'm talking about FIRE -with flames- burning up and burning down. Expect to get electrical shock from malfunctioning equipment regularly. Safety and Quality are just catch phrases here. The machines are old and break down constantly. Maintenance is pathetic- don't know what they're doing and don't care. Basically lawnmower mechanics- if that. HR is a strange group- obsessed with attendance. The attendance policy is insanely strict- but selectively enforced. Not a lot of opportunities for minorities here. The clown show is mostly one type of clown.
