Pros

The people who are passionate about the plant and hard working are amazing and the only reason I am still here. The pay is probably the best in cannabis and the insurance is great, but with this new CFO, I am confident that it will change. There is a very strong chance that insurance will become a cost to employees next year.

Cons

Wow, this company is extremely toxic. Where do I even begin? Over the last 5 years there have been 3+ RIFS. Leadership has changed hands so frequently. And each new regime thinks that everyone who works in cannabis is unintelligent and that their non cannabis business experience will save this company. SPOLER ALERT- it will not. You need to have a blend of business expertise and cannabis understanding. No matter how much you try to templatize cannabis (cough cough, the new CFO), you will soon realize that you will not succeed. Also lets talk about toxicity- the people at the top have succeeded only because they never fight for themselves or their team, or new leadership has brought them in. The pay scale here also makes no sense...if you want to get promoted or make a lot of money at PAX, you just need to keep your head down and say yes. This is probably the case at a lot of other companies and definitely the case at PAX. The new CFO, is the definition of a micro manager. You would think that when someone joins a new company, as an executive, they would take a few weeks or a month to understand how each org functions, why and how they use data and from there ask questions and begin to make changes. But (sigh) no, that is not what happened. The new CFO has come in blazing hot, asking a lot of questions, then not listening to the answers they have been given. Then instead of communicating efficiently, you get micromanaged down to the formatting of an excel cell. Talk about empowering your team right?!?! In regards to the new CEO- there are a lot of comments here that state he has been a great change for the company- and to be honest that is the case, but not because he is a rockstar and amazing (they are ok), but because the bar was set EXTREMELY LOW with the prior ceo. Lastly, lets talk about the board of directors... Dang that must be such a kushy job (no pun intended)! We have had many of the same members over the last five years as the company has continued to grow more toxic and under deliver. They have no idea how to save this company. Half of them have no personal cannabis experience and do not understand the industry. Then there are others who come from "adjacent" industries and think that they can save the company with products that do not resemble or align with the original identity and mission.

Pros

I’ve had a really positive experience working here. From day one, everyone has been welcoming and helpful, and I’ve always felt supported by my team. The people are great to work with, and there is a strong sense of connection across the company. I’ve also had opportunities to learn, grow, and take on projects that have a clear purpose.

Cons

Things can move quickly, so priorities may shift from time to time. It keeps the work interesting and provides opportunities to learn.
