Be wary - unethical hiring practices - Data Consultant PCI Government Services Employee Review

I was hired as a data consultant in August 2024, then laid off a month later. A team-wide meeting was organized at the last minute on a Friday to notify staff of possible layoffs. Very little information was given by management. On Monday, there was radio silence and no updates were provided to worried employees. Tuesday at close of business day, management called me into a meeting to let me know that I was being laid off and that was my last day of employment with PCI. I was given an hour’s notice that I was being laid off, due to a federal client opting not to renew their contract. I feel that I was hired for a position that did not exist. I cannot believe PCI would have hired someone with knowing 100% whether a contract had been acquired. Extremely unethical, do not work here.
