Run from their IT department - Architect PENFED Credit Union Employee Review

Their IT department routinely has SEV 1 & 2s. Barely a week goes by without a SEV 1. Who operates like that? There are thousands of open items/defects/bugs/issues. Again who operates like that? Next to nothing is documented about their software or IT infrastructure. PF is WAY to over reliant on south Asian contractors who come cheap and turn over regularly. The staff aug guys mostly come from partners who also do project work so they’re often undermining you to your leadership which is a colossal conflict of interest. There are people making IT & software architecture decisions who can’t even spell IT and thus there are host of systems cobbles together in non-best practice ways and of course the guy who built the system and didn’t document it left and so has his replacement so no one knows how things work, so other departments are often blaming you/your team for stuff that you have to debug back into someone else’s spaghetti code. They’ll report record earnings, payout half the bonus early and than have layoffs. So not cool to blindside people. Unless you’re desperate, look someplace else.
