Pros

I like the freedom this job gives me. Working from home/vacationing when I have the chance has all been fairly easy. Much more so than previous jobs in retail management. Been working with the same AE for over three years. We have a good system of team work to keep our book of business successful. Have the ability to make more money as we grow our business. Also, the company is fairly fluid so promotions are possible. You get out what you put in. If the effort is there most likely you will see positive returns.

Cons

The people we deal with (drivers and dispatchers) can be absolutely miserable. But, having worked many other jobs I find that this is just something you deal with no matter what. Cold calling wasn't a good time. Its something you have to do in tons of sales jobs. Not many people enjoy it. Just have to power through it and the job gets easier eventually. The company changes gears fairly often in how they want to proceed. AET jobs and goals have changed a ton in the last three years. It seems to have begun leveling out in the past six months though.

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
