Pros

-Base Salary was…. Ok @ $52k/yr -Location was great. -Co-Workers were cool

Cons

- Low Manager to AE Ratio. Took forever to get help from management. - High Turnover -2% commission (if you are there long enough to receive it) you won’t get paid until shipper pays their Net 30 bill. - Terrible Leads (and they tell you not to source your own leads while on the clock) - That outdated Jordan Belfort script sucks. - Business model is to hire a new class, work them to death, see who can acquire a few new accounts. If they don’t reach a certain $ goal, more than likely will be fired and all new accounts that person acquired will be given to a Senior AE. (Pyramid scheme). - Non-Compete meaning that if you work there, you can’t work for any other type of logistics company for at least 3 years. I made a joke about getting a hotshot and Austin said we would sue you if that happened.

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
