Pros
Knowledgeable people and pretty good exposure to big brands/leaders in the industry. Swags, events, parties(but are really just used as carrots to keep you slightly more motivated and working more)
Cons
Career Opportunities: Once you are hired, the path to get promoted can be lengthy and even at the cost of your life . The standard for performance review is also kind of insane, unless you perform EXTRAORDINARY, meaning extra long hours and sacrifice your personal time on weekend/holiday, it'll never been enough. A lot of the team members are staffed from the Graduate Leadership Program happening every summer. Everyone is basically fresh grad and could be from ANY background who are trained for three month before they got thrown into the battlefield. I've heard quite a few cases when the new memeber got burnout early because managers' too busy or simply do not know how to lead a team Compensation: there's no transparency at all, your manager does not know your salary, and somehow it feels like they are not expected to know either. The bonus is paid in two installments, one at the end of year for about 25%, and the rest in the next April, and after tax basically HALF WOULD BE GONE. The way they pay a large portion of bonus in the second installment makes it feel like it's just something they hold you up to avoid people quitting right after new year. Under industry average compensation, and they make you feel you should be grateful for it Culture & Values: this used to be good when i joined the company but obviously have changed in the past year. There used to be a lot of flexibility but no more when the company started to expand crazy with understaffed teams. Totally agree on what other people commented, the culture's very cult-like, they either like or hate you, there’s no middle land, and would gaslight you if you don't "get along /fit well" with their so-called vibe, and this is not healthy. Understood that everyone's stressed out, but a healthy workplace culture is quite critical to foster productivity and to have sincere chat. Diversity: they tried to grow the effort through CBID, but can't really say it's actually helpful because they are doing this for showing and checking the box. Once in a while you'll hear the c suites talking about the leadership demographics, they made effort to expand by hiring minorities, but it feels very obviously that they only did it to maintain the company image and to prove(very hard) that the company's inclusive enough, while they don't bother making efforts to find a solution to some skilled international employees(actually advise them to go to grad school), isn't that a cultural clash or I don’t know how to explain Senior management: I'm not sure they actually take the feedbacks from all the surveys that they push so hard for the employees to fill out. They do it for the sake of doing it and only use it to gauge the sentiment and test if they can push the boundary even further. I’ve seen more and more people quitting this year, and that speaks to itself Work life balance: not great, depending on teams and accounts, you are expected to be on call over the weekend or even work during major holidays especially the big ones like Black Friday, Thanksgiving etc., with no extra compensation. You'll also likely be in constant anxiety because the unreasonable expectation, and this will never be worse. RUN before your mental collapses
