Pros

PMG is a great place to start your career, especially through the GLP program which gives you hands-on experience early on. You’ll learn a lot fast, work with smart and talented people, and get exposure to major brands that look great on your resume. The fast-paced environment helps you build strong problem-solving and time management skills, and there are fun events and team outings that make the experience memorable.

Cons

I absolutely loved my time at PMG at first - especially because I was given the rare opportunity to pivot teams and finally do work I was genuinely passionate about. But over time, it became hard to ignore the major employee retention issues happening both across the company and especially on my small team. Over four people left without any backfill, and instead of hiring replacements, the team was expected to take on even more campaigns with no added support. Unfortunately, working under the “leader” overseeing the team became one of the most challenging parts of my experience. While I understand the pressure that comes with leadership, it often felt like that stress was passed directly onto me. Feedback was delivered in ways that felt disrespectful and discouraging, and the overall work environment lacked structure and clarity. I noticed that this kind of pressure and tension wasn’t something others on my team seemed to be experiencing - it felt personal and isolating. I went above and beyond for the brands I worked on, frequently working late nights and weekends, yet still felt undervalued and overlooked. Eventually, the constant stress, anxiety, and lack of support became too much - and I knew I had to leave. When I shared my decision to leave, I was met with what felt like retaliation and intimidation. Instead of support, I received pressure and comments that only reinforced the anxiety I had already been feeling - the very reason I was stepping away. Now that I’m in a healthier work environment, I can confidently say the workflow and leadership I was under were unsustainable. There was a clear priority placed on keeping clients happy, but little regard for how that pressure affected the people behind the work. Additionally, the lack of diversity at PMG - especially at the leadership level - was disappointing. For a company that’s been around for over a decade, the fact that there are still no POC on the executive team is concerning. Representation matters, and it’s hard to feel fully seen or supported in a space where leadership doesn’t reflect a wide range of perspectives and experiences.

Thank you for taking the time to share both your reflections and the challenges you experienced during your time at PMG. We are especially glad to hear that the GLP program provided meaningful hands-on experience and exposure to impactful work early in your career. Creating opportunities where people can grow quickly, build critical skills, and form lasting connections is something we take great pride in. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience shifted in a way that left you feeling unsupported. The concerns you raised around staffing, team dynamics, and leadership behavior are not reflective of the culture we strive to create. We hold ourselves accountable to leadership behaviors rooted in empathy, clarity, and support, and we know how important it is for every employee to feel respected and valued. We also appreciate your perspective on representation within our leadership. We remain committed to advancing our Culture of Belonging, Inclusion, and Diversity (CBID), and we recognize that meaningful representation must exist at every level of the organization. While we have made progress, we know there is more to do, and feedback like yours challenges us to keep moving forward with intentionality. Thank you again for your candor and contributions during your time at PMG. We wish you continued success and well-being in all that is ahead.
