Pros
The best reason to work for PNC is the name recognition.
Cons
Size and specialization. It is very difficult, if not impossible to expand your depth of knowledge. I asked for support to attain my CFA designation and was told that "This is not within the scope of your current position." It is not easy to develop yourself professionally. I did not work with a single person who was satisfied with management in our particular division. In fact, I was the 10th person to leave my department in the 18 months that I was there. From speaking with other PNC employees in other departments as well as my own observations, PNC relies on high turnover from young, replaceable employees. If you're interested in a mediocre job with a safe mediocre paycheck, PNC is your place to be. However, if you have any ambition, and strive for a career, go somewhere else.
