Pros

- Salaried position. - Starting pay was higher than average. That's it.

Cons

Where do I even begin?! I would give negative stars if I could. - I was hired as a new graduate at an acute care facility in Northern California, and received the bare minimum training imaginable, most of it from another new graduate. My assigned "mentor" lacked the knowledge and experience necessary for the setting in which I was practicing. - I routinely observed questionable, unethical, and at times unsafe clinical practices. When I attempted to raise concerns through the appropriate channels, I was met with hostility, intimidation, and retaliation instead of support. - The workplace culture is toxic. Gossip, favoritism, backstabbing, and unprofessional behavior are the norm rather than the exception. - I was denied a deserved pay increase after raising concerns about patient care and workplace practices. Draw your own conclusions. - Staff turnover is alarmingly high. The strongest clinicians rarely stay long, and the department survives largely through a revolving door of contract staff. That alone should tell you everything you need to know. - Employees repeatedly requested resources, training, and improvements to clinical practices. Management's response was consistently the same: nothing. Concern after concern was ignored despite being raised multiple times. - Leadership plays favorites. Recognition, rewards, scheduling flexibility, and opportunities do not appear to be distributed based on performance or merit. Some employees can do the bare minimum and receive praise, while others can go above and beyond and receive absolutely nothing. - Favoritism was rampant. Certain individuals appeared to have significant flexibility with scheduling, attendance, compensation, and workplace expectations, while others were held to entirely different standards. - After months of hard work, taking difficult caseloads, and consistently putting patients first, my compensation increase amounted to a whopping TEN CENTS per hour. Yes, ten cents. Meanwhile, others received significantly larger raises and greater flexibility despite contributing far less. - Management was quick to find excuses for why certain employees "didn't deserve" raises while somehow finding plenty of reasons to reward their preferred staff members. - Nothing quite compares to being told how to do your job by people who were rarely around long enough to understand what your job actually involved. - Compensation decisions appeared heavily influenced by subjective evaluations rather than objective performance metrics. Despite maintaining high productivity, taking very little PTO, and meeting the measurable criteria that were communicated to me, I was told I was not performing at a level that warranted a meaningful raise. The process lacked transparency and left me with little confidence that performance was the primary factor being considered. If you value ethical practice, professional growth, patient safety, and competent leadership, look elsewhere. This organization does an excellent job of driving away the very employees who care the most.

Pros

Lots of opportunities to grow if you're willing to put yourself out there. The continuing education offerings are a huge plus and make it easy to keep learning. If you're motivated, there are plenty of opportunities to take on new challenges and responsibilities. You're not stuck in one lane. There are opportunities in clinical practice, leadership, teaching, and operations. The company invests quite a bit in developing its employees compared to a lot of places

Cons

Communication across different levels of the organization can occasionally be inconsistent during periods of growth and change. Expectations around productivity and performance are high, which can be motivating for some but may not be the right fit for everyone. Work-life balance can vary depending on your clinic and its needs

Pros

Colleagues are great! Fun, young culture They promote fast (way too fast - it’s because of turnover and workflows so convoluted they couldn’t get someone external to learn them)

Cons

Why fix the problem if you could find a workaround that is more difficult than the logical solution? You will be told the most convoluted workflow you’ve ever heard, employed by 0 other healthcare providers, is actually the only option unfortunately! But don’t ask why, they won’t be able to tell you. During “crunch times”, expect to work the hours of an investment banker for the pay of a fast food worker. Maybe an insultingly meager “discretionary bonus” if you’re lucky. Heavy micro-management to cover for totally ignoring the actual problem. The longer you work in a certain roll, the less you are paid in terms of seniority. There are brand new hires making 30% more than those who have worked there for years.
