Pros

Getting to know some of your colleagues, primarily the ones in your position or similar, and trying have fun out of a very toxic environment

Cons

If you’re looking for a career that prioritizes a work life balance then look further because this is not it. Enjoy working a heavy claim load while trying to adhere to metrics that are unreasonable. Expect to do the work of multiple different departments within claims for the sake of helping the company save money. You are expected to be a call center representative in a call queue for majority of your day, an insurance adjuster handling 50+ claims, a subrogation specialist, set losses for multiple lines of businesses via phone AND inbox email. Be prepared to show up everyday with a smile and be as interactive as possible even though you’re severely overwhelmed and rittled with anxiety because things change over night. You are practically forced to do side projects regardless of whether you’re comfortable, have time or not and without being asked. If you express your feelings to leadership dont expect anything to get resolved because it’ll truly go in one ear and out the other. If you’re lucky you might get a thank you. And the promotional bonus…a joke. Expect to work on holidays and weekends because being there for the insured is more important than allowing your adjusters to have lives. If you enjoy working past or before your scheduled hours without pay because you’re an exempt employee then you’ll love this opportunity. Long story short, this department is a vicious cyclical environment and overly depressing. A constant nightmare
