Pros

You get enough money to almost live off of.

Cons

The level of unprofessionalism and ineptitude at Pace Analytical has always astounded me, this only being trumped by the fact that some people actually believe that Pace has a professional work environment. Over the years that I have worked there I have been present to many instances of unprofessional behavior ranging from sexual remarks to publicly abusive tirades against individuals displayed by low level employees spanning to high level management. It is a small company so the "anonymous report line" isn't very anonymous. There are some managers that are actually professional, however they usually talk down to you and make you feel stupid for any questions you may ask or mistakes you make. If you can get past this working mentality you will also find that no one wants to be there. Management works with the mentality of just getting through they each day while some have even verbally expressed that this is not where they thought they would end up/want to work. To succeed as a worker here you pretty much just have to not care and be good and looking busy. Where the general slogan among workers about poor working conditions and subpar equiptmemt is "Well, its Pace" the best career path you can take is to not stand out and blend in to the background. There is also a big push for accurate data, however if you find a mistake in your work you may want to evaluate the level of your mistake, and if it is not substantial just keep it to yourself since you'll get in the same amount of trouble for it regardless of the actual significance of the mistake. You are given benefits if you are actually hired by Pace (rather than through a temp agency) however if you ever request time off, call in/go home sick, or request to leave early you are judged for not being there to do you job (even if it is completed.) Also, if you get a less desirable shift and think you will eventually work your way to a better one, you may want to reconsider. New employees are often given better shifts than others that have been there longer, however if an employee does manage to stay at Pace for a couple decades, they pretty much get to go home whenever they finish their work, leaving the other employees unfortunate enough to only work there a few years to stay at work and cover any additional work that may come in after they leave. Finally, management always wants to make sure you know how long it takes them to fix any mistake you make. High level management only pays attention to you when you make a mistake, and when they are present in any reprimand you may incur they act like they have been working with you and the lower management all along and parrot any problems the lower management has discussed with them prior while emitting and air of superiority and self congratulations for being reasonable and forgiving in the actions taken for them to take the time to fix your mistake.

Pros

Pace had an amazing work environment, the amenities available to employees were far beyond what was necessary for the job. Everyone was extremely friendly and worked well together when group work and collaboration was necessary. Truthfully I was looking forward to working every day being a part of this company! This job helped me realize my passion and helped me decide to attend college for environmental science.

Cons

I personally have nothing negative to say other than the location is quite out of the way for most of the people who worked there. I didn't mind the commute but it was a common topic spoken about in the workplace.

Pros

Good people but all had issues with upper management, and the company entirely.

Cons

Swapped ownership and no longer gives bonuses and, did not address harassment issues seriously enough to resolve it. Due to down sizes 20ish people were let go all who were part time. Injuries were followed with the firing of that person for “unrelated reasons” but seemed odd. I was also asked to do something that did not follow the guidelines I needed to follow incase of forensic use. And employee shouldn’t be asked to go against guidelines and it should have been handled by someone more experienced.
