Pros
Opportunities to learn new things as long as you are willing to take on a ton of additional responsibilities and fight fires.
Cons
The company actively works against the lab and does not desire any improvement. They want poor working conditions to drive turnover, so they never have to pay people what they are worth. Only a few people would stick in specific roles for more than a year. But the moment a somewhat senior (and here senior means more than a year) leaves, their department crumbles as they scramble to get any kind of support in back filling or training from upper management. The on-site management tried their best frequently to keep the mess together, but they lacked the staffing and resources required to effectively manage the lab.
