Pros

It's a good place to launch a career in the electric utility industry. There is always plenty of work to stay busy. They are very short staffed, so there is opportunity to gain a broad experience base.

Cons

Employees are generally disrespected by upper management: (i.e. Employees WILL work from eight to five, and WILL take lunch breaks from noon to one.) The capital budget is artificially constrained. New infrastructure will not be approved for construction unless either: 1) The new infrastructure results in an opportunity to gouge the California energy market, or 2) It can be VERY clearly demonstrated that the existing infrastructure will burn down in the next year. Constantly changing organizational structure and tightening of policies reduces overall morale, and casts a cloud of uncertainty over everything. Hard working employees that don't lobby for raises all the time are given glowing reviews, and paltry raises that don't even keep up with inflation.

Pros

The employees that actually and actively do work and come together.

Cons

This company promotes bullying and has zero work life balance, they basically have reverted back to the 50s in relation to office first policy! So equated and behind the generations. The CEO Darin Carroll of Pacificorp was on a zoom call saying how he dislikes WFH as he was obviously at home on the call, you just can't make this stuff up, VPs quit and they turn around and get promoted because no one wants to work for a culture of favoritism and bullying!
