Pros
Relative to the other utilities in the region I can’t think of anything good to say.
Cons
Since this is generally a poor place to work relative to other utilities in the region the turnover is extremely high, institutional knowledge is rarely accumulated and talented employees are hard to find. Management/leaders don’t care about you. The personality required to succeed as a manager at PacifiCorp is generally one that does not lend itself to empathy, compassion or any other value that promotes a positive culture. The company has become so obsessed with cost cutting and the bottom line that working overtime on weekdays and working during your weekends (without overtime pay of any sort) has become the norm and is expected in some departments. The compensation offered by PacifiCorp is extremely low relative to similar positions at the other utilities in the region. Your relatively low pay as a salaried employee will look even lower after taking into account the amount of time you spend working outside the compensated work hours.
