Pros

Checks always deposit on time?

Cons

Look at the reviews. The only people raving about the ESOP are sales and management, because they are the only ones making enough money to make ESOP worth it. When they only want to pay 35K/year, the 20% ESOP contribution is nothing. Management wants to keep employee salaries down so their compensation is higher. They think the ESOP makes up for low pay. Boiling hot in the summer, freezing cold in the winter with no sympathy from Management. General Manager doesn't want shop guys in the office, as they are not his kind of people. When I left, i immediately got a job making $5/hr more for a much smaller company.

Pros

Employee-owned means you’re not just clocking in — you’re invested in the success of the company. There’s real pride in working here, and it shows in how teams step up for each other. Every day brings variety, problem-solving, and chances to learn across different parts of the steel and recycling business. Leadership is approachable, and there’s room to grow if you’re willing to put in the effort. The culture balances professionalism with plenty of personality, which keeps things fun even when the workload is heavy.

Cons

Like any fast-paced industry, it can get busy and a little chaotic at times — but that’s part of the challenge and what keeps the work interesting.
