Pros

If you are foreigner with zero local experience AND you can self support your life cost AND you don't have any career amibition at all AND you don't mind being treated by clients as second-class consultant because of your employer's reputation, congratulations! Pactera is your dream place to work.

Cons

There was some good old days when the company was under management of its initial founder and his close friends. Since the sale of the company, the co-founders stepped down as minor shareholder or left the company without hesitation, the company has been struggling financially for a couple of years or so (though the HQ or HR will tell you another story): 1. All the competent sales are gone. Revenue in doubt. 2. All respectable one-up managers are gone. Now you have options from managers who are: self absorbed and racist, OR, in the belief that you are rubbish Asian but he is elite because he is Australia born Asian, OR, in the belief that you are doing OK but you become idiot when it comes to salary review/promotion. 3. The recruitment management is good at: lying to you to get you onboard, OR verbally abusing you because you are born overseas yet you expect an average pay (not to mention market pay). 4. Your client (say Telstra) will perceive you as bad by DEFAULT because the your on site Pactera managers will: either spread the rumor that you are a bad consultant (I personally don't understand why...do they envy you or treat you as their career competition? ) OR not protect you at all when you encounter politics (let's admit there are always nasty politics at big clients), so that they stay out of "trouble". OR make troubles themselves and then sneakily NOMINATE you as the trouble-maker (you know how traffic infringement notice nomination works, don't you?) 5. The company lacks processes, standards, measurements in many areas including: projects artifacts, your sick leave/annual leave request(!), performance/salary review, resource allocation, client engagement, sales... HOWEVER, the company does have one clear guideline: how you can be promoted - due to their requirements, you can sometimes be promoted from Associate Consultant to Consultant, you can seldom be promoted from Consultant to Senior Consultant because you will never meet ALL the strict requirements (except you got an offer from other company...that's the easiest way to be promoted).
