Drivers only get a small portion of the delivery charge. When gas prices began to rise Papa John's raised there delivery charge to help "drivers offset the cost of gas" but when gas prices went back down they lowered the amount of the delivery charge drivers received but never actually lowered the charge to the customer. The higher the delivery charge the less people tip the driver. Papa John's pretends the charge is to help cover drivers mileage but they pocket a large portion of the charge.
