Pros
Pay is good benefits are great, and they really mean it when they say unlimited PTO. The product is something that is generally positive, or at worst neutral. From an engineering perspective, the work is generally not too challenging, but anecdotally it does seem very unpleasant for pretty much everyone else who isn't a C-level. Work is entirely remote with no looming expectation of a return to offices.
Cons
From the point of view of a rank-and-filer, this is an extremely rigid organization. However, it becomes surprisingly flexible as soon as someone with "Chief" in their title wants to do something stupid, whereafter said stupid thing is immediately set in stone. Management is absolutely not interested in hearing disagreements of any kind, so do not waste your time. Success at Parachute requires that you check out of anything that isn't simply writing code. If you can do that then it's probably a pretty cushy gig.
