Unfortunately, there's a lot of turnover due to bait and switch (as it was when I was there). Management were hiring accounting degree graduates, which is not required to do the work. It's nice to have a little accounting background, however it can be taught while in training. Also, the company doesn't like to pay a fair salary. It's low salaries compared to others in the area for a Staff Accountant. Work/life balance is non-existent due to very high turnover rates. They're always hiring staff, which leaves no room to actually grow as a team/department. The Staff Accountants are mainly working with Cash, Receivables, and Collections. The other accounting tasks are handled by the Finance side and management. It doesn't allow for an environment for growth specifically within Accounting.
Management is also one of the bigger issues. They pick favorites, which is very unprofessional. The challenges within management caused a hostile work environment (as they do not get along at all). The lack of respect and ability to get things done effectively was very apparent within management, and can be observed by the team. They are also very unprofessional when addressing certain members of the team. The tone of which they addressed the staff is not with any level of respect, in my opinion.
Overall, there's a lot to be done to address staffing issues as well as management's level of professionalism.
