Pros
No observed micro-management at a functional level (you are expected to show leadership within your area of expertise) Therefore, you have have flexibility to perform your job leveraging your experience and talents which can become opportunities to grow your career if you choose to. Culture that supports diverse opinions and promotes a sense of challenging the status quo (It is encouraged). My experience has been that everyone treats each other as a colleague and with due respect - across management levels. Wonderful people you get to work with everyday ( I truly mean that)
Cons
Huge, disparaging disconnect between executive leadership's grand plans for growth/change and operational realities…yes, PAREXEL also 'puts the cart before the horse'. And sometimes the execution is quite frightening. This may lead to frustration and increased turnover (more so than industry averages). By the way, your flexibility to run independently ends once you have opposed Business Development and/or Quality Management who wield power. From a higher level - too many processes/communication/technologies that are redundant or conflict. A new idea gets operationalized before being even partially vetted...and the downstream impact is often times a train wreck.
