Pros

-Cash tips up front most places + possible considerable wages -Can make up to $50/hr some shifts (albeit only for a few hours) -Will work with almost any availability (4 hours/week to 60+ if you want) -Great exercise! -Phone clock in system allows you to report your own tips. -Often no supervision, you are your own boss.

Cons

-Working outside in the elements. Rain, snow, cold, sweltering...you're working -Is possible to make less than minimum wage ($2.13/hr is made up to minimum wage if tips don't put you there, but excess tips from previous shifts above min. wage will counteract it) -Office politics and favoritism

Pros

extremely easy job, if you need a break from corporate and want something mindless to do this is it. Fast paces environment, Flexible, good work life balance if you are open with management about your needs. Have been here a few years and on a set schedule which works great for my life

Cons

management is horridly unorganized and/or uncaring, also extremely unprofessional (had a manager tell me intimate details about another coworker unprovoked, and the same manager mocked my disability, very male dominated field so ladies beware. Because the jobs is easy it can breed laziness in some people. On extremely busy nights when coworkers don't do their jobs correctly and it falls on me to correct everything. Also no one is ever on time. I used to arrive an hour early and leave between 1-3 hours late every day for 2 years. Now that I have gotten extremely petty and been late every day for the last 6 months it seems to be an issue. Feels like legalized slavery with the poverty wages provided
