Pros
The organization has a leadership team that is pretty new (only 4 of the VPs/Directors have been here more than 4 years) and the Executive Leadership Team is letting them fix the problems. While costs are always a factor in conservative lending firms, there is a real desire here to find and fix problems and to prepare for an even better futures. The CEO has been here for almost five years, was recognized as one of the most influential business women in the Bay Area a year or two ago - and really believes in hiring, empowering, and getting out of the way of top notch people.
Cons
The workload can be rough. There is a lot to do here, and everybody wants their stuff done first - just like everywhere else. The joke is we are changing the tires and replacing the engine on the bus while driving 65mph down the road, but balancing between quick wins and long term improvements is something (if you articulate it) that is accepted and supported.
