Pros
The job was simple enough to learn. Data entry was basically putting urine sample information into a computer and then processing it. A lot of the people there were recent graduates so the age group was about the same, the pay was also pretty good if you're fresh out of college. Met some great people here, too bad the work environment changed.
Cons
I should preface I was a temp here who got the job through Office Team, take with that what grain of salt you will. I worked at Pathnostics when they were opening up their sister Lab Element 7 and it wasn't fun for anyone. Management was stressed out and enforced newer rules on everyone, but the temps were hit the hardest. We were micromanaged and I can say we were clearly not as valued as the other employees. To some that might be expected but we did the same work, which was the reason it seemed unfair. We also wore different colored scrubs compared to those hired on which just felt kind of segregating.... The other lab techs were nice and the "color of your scrubs" didn't change how they treated you but Management was incredibly shady about some things. If someone got laid off, they just hired someone else on the next day and acted as though it never happened. No explanation, no heads up, just a member of the quality control staff was gone. This led to a lot of us feeling expendable as during my time there (About 3 months), seven people either left of their own volition or were laid off for reasons never made known to us. The high turnover was concerning which led me to eventually find work elsewhere. The way management fired you was to call Office Team (The temp agency) the day you were working to call you that evening and to tell you that your services are no longer required. This led to the general uneasiness of the temps I worked with, me included and we felt no job stability. Again some might argue this is what being a temp is for. We certainly felt interchangeable that is for sure. To be fair it was a time of change and l'm sure management was under stress, but they could have handled it with more grace and kept us informed. (Sorry for the paragraph). PS: Bear in mind that the one star for career opportunities and compensation & benefits were because l was a temp worker. Never experienced them so l can't say how they are.
