Pros
OK so I'm going to be biased - you know that ... but I "chose" to opt in to this firm. I have been a freelance person for 4 years before joining Pax8. Not a small decision to go "all in" - and the reasons were - Pax8 really are human centric, and not afraid to "break what's been done before and think different". So I genuinely BELIEVE we can do this and what's being built is to solve an industry problem that actually will make life better for a lot of people in businesses. There - I am all about people and can't work for anyone who isn't - so that's my reason for joining. Aside from that you can be your true authentic self, everyone is open to ideas (but sure you have to work at that sometimes!), immense opportunity to accelerate your learning. I mean - who else uses Hollywood people for User Interfaces?! Really exciting stuff going on under the hood in here. Huge investment in L&D that I haven't seen since 1998 - which most other "corporate orgs" have dismantled. Big responsibilities are given early to those who prove themselves. Work using peer to peer collaboration not just rely on hierachy. You can think "how could it be ..." not just that's the way things have always been done so copy it (duh!?) It's more, come on Be brave, be courageous, just try! and see how you fly. Great mentors and servant leaders who walk the walk. Oh ... and lovely people with good values ...
Cons
Not enough time to explore all the education available, things are changing and accelerating so fast - you dont have time to do "perfection". Not a bad thing but you can always tweak and revisit. You do have to invest in your development to keep pace. So Time to think deeply ... when you are moving at warp speed in the day job is not always available. Gosh I need more life ... I feel like I'm just starting my career again :)
