Pros

Great training. There are 4 tiers to the training process. 1st you study the products and services. 2nd you go to Rochester for 2 weeks for in-depth sales training. 3rd you are in the field with tenured reps and beginning to manage a territory. Lastly you go back to Rochester for completion of training.

Cons

Hunter mentality. There are some generated leads, but there is a lot of cold calling involved to bring in new business.

Pros

Paychex is a great company to work for. I’ve held multiple roles over 20+ years. There are always ups and downs, but for every position, manager, decision I disagree with, there are ten others that are outstanding.

Cons

It’s a large company with many opportunities to grow, but smaller companies may offer higher compensation.

Pros

Remote work is a plus. Collaboration from peers is more plus than minus. Documentation of business technology was great for the most part.

Cons

Worse holiday observance company I ever worked for. Pay is low for what is asked. Work/life balance was good until 2025. Mid-level leadership and above is not ideal. I had little guidance when I started so, especially from manager so had to figure things out with help of peers.
