Pros

This was a great way to start my career, as I was given a lot of responsibility and experience that I can speak to for future roles. I got along with everyone on my team, there were quite a few freebies, and the pay and benefits were good for someone starting their career. Pay scaled with your years at the company pretty well and there was a lot of opportunity for internal promotion.

Cons

The workload was absolutely insane and managers/supervisors were either oblivious or willfully ignorant to it. When we moved to work from home, the workload also increased greatly, maybe not in sheer number of client interactions, but in the complexity of their requests and how long it took to resolve the interaction. I was working my tail off all day, every day, and still being told that if my stats didn't improve, I'd be in danger for disciplinary action. Problem is, the stats were calibrated to a much different level of workload than what we were experiencing. Newer employees or employees still learning the Paychex system were set up for failure. They provided opportunity for upward movement, but by the time I left them, I wouldn't have been interested anyway.

Pros

People and the overall environment is a positive one. If you do your part, definite long term career potential. It’s not easy- but stable, growing. Worth serious consideration for early career looking for sales experience with a great training program. Also good for mid-career consideration if base salary isn’t the primary reason you are in sales.

Cons

Very fast pace that doesn’t suit everyone. If you are looking for easy or just a job to “hang out”, this probably isn’t the right spot for you.

Pros

Remote work and Flexible Time Off

Cons

Low pay. Minimal to no career growth. Constant leadership turnover. Conflicting priorities from the top with little strategic direction. Endless “do more with less” mentality and burnout. Mandatory culture and positivity “training” instead of fixing the problems creating poor culture. The company has become reactive, chaotic, and disconnected from the employees who keep it running. Current CEO drove down stock price and eradicated worker morale. Terrible leadership.
