Pros

The values, DEI efforts, and most of all the people at Paychex are what has kept me here the last 12 years. Phenomenal learning & development organization that has placed in Training Magazine's APEX awards (formerly Top 125) for 22 years straight, with a Top 5 award in 2022 and 2023.

Cons

Salary/Pay ranges tend to be lower than averages for markets and nationally. If you are not comfortable with change management philosophies, it can be difficult to keep up with being agile in your role's responsibilities and driving results.

Pros

Paychex is a great company to work for. I’ve held multiple roles over 20+ years. There are always ups and downs, but for every position, manager, decision I disagree with, there are ten others that are outstanding.

Cons

It’s a large company with many opportunities to grow, but smaller companies may offer higher compensation.

Pros

Remote work is a plus. Collaboration from peers is more plus than minus. Documentation of business technology was great for the most part.

Cons

Worse holiday observance company I ever worked for. Pay is low for what is asked. Work/life balance was good until 2025. Mid-level leadership and above is not ideal. I had little guidance when I started so, especially from manager so had to figure things out with help of peers.
